An 11-minute walk from Komae Station is a nice little stroll! Walking through the residential area searching for the brewery is part of the excitement.

Tue-Fri they open at 4 PM. On weekends they open from 11 AM, so you can enjoy a lunch beer too!

✨ Venue & Atmosphere

A small brewery that blends into a quiet residential neighborhood. The taproom isn’t large, but it’s a luxurious space where you can enjoy beer while feeling the brewing equipment up close. Conversations with the brewer flow naturally, and you can hear directly about their passion for Portland and their brewing philosophy.

Drinking beer while seeing the brewing equipment right in front of you is the best! Being able to smell the beer fermenting in the tanks is the true charm of a brewery-direct taproom!

A Belgian Ale brewed with techniques learned in Portland. Rich yeast-derived banana and clove ester aromas, perfectly balanced with malt sweetness. Mild bitterness makes it very approachable.

Belgian Ale is a beer style originating in Belgium, characterized by fruity ester aromas from special yeast! The banana, clove, and sometimes spicy aromas come from the yeast. Portland has a thriving Belgian-style brewing scene, and Izumi Brewery was directly influenced by that tradition!

Being able to experience Portland’s beer culture in Komae (Komae, Tokyo) was really moving! You can’t help but want to support community-rooted small breweries like this.

Brewer Shinsuke Izumi trained at Portland’s Commons Brewery (sadly now closed). He brought the brewery’s philosophy of ‘urban farmhouse ales’ back to Japan, earning multiple international awards with the flagship ‘3A Farmhouse Ale.’ The weekend-only operation style reflects the dedication to handcrafted quality.

It’s sad that Commons Brewery has closed. But I’m really glad Izumi-san is carrying on that spirit in Japan. Being able to enjoy Portland’s flavors in Tokyo is truly moving!
