VERTERE, one of Tokyo’s premier craft breweries originating from Okutama (奥多摩), has finally opened a taproom within walking distance of JR Tachikawa Station. I made my first visit in March 2026, right before a company get-together. The sight of 20 taps of VERTERE beer lined up in a sleek white-and-concrete space was absolutely stunning.

Upon entering, the first thing that strikes you is the clean, white-and-concrete space. It’s not flashy, but the thoughtful use of materials and lighting creates a perfect environment for focusing on beer. The bar counter features 20 taps neatly arranged, all pouring VERTERE beers.

While VERTERE has always been synonymous with Okutama (奥多摩), this Tachikawa location boasts a prime spot just a short walk from the station. With excellent access from Tachikawa Station — served by the Chuo, Ome, and Nambu lines — it’s easy to stop by after work or during a weekend beer crawl.
