Riho Beer No. 508 is “THERE IS NO BREWER,” a collaboration between Seattle’s Human People and Portland, Oregon’s Brujos Brewing. Classified as an IPA – Imperial / Double New England / Hazy, this Triple Dry Hopped Hazy DIPA clocks in at 8.5% ABV. Four hops — Citra Cryo, Nelson, Rakau, and NZ Cascade — create a stunning tropical hop experience. The hop bill is incredible! Citra Cryo is a concentrated version of Citra where only the lupulin (the yellow aromatic powder in hops) is extracted at low temperatures — it contains over 2x the aroma compounds of regular Citra. Combined with three NZ hops (Nelson, Rakau, NZ Cascade) and triple dry hopped, the aroma layers are absolutely explosive!

🥂 Tasting Notes
Appearance: Poured into a glass, it reveals a deep golden-orange haze that blocks all light — true to its name, as if the brewer simply isn’t there, letting nature take its course. The opacity is a testament to the triple dry hopping.
Aroma: The moment you bring the glass to your nose, Citra Cryo’s concentrated mango and passion fruit burst forward. Behind them, Nelson’s white grape and gooseberry, then Rakau’s apricot emerge in succession. NZ Cascade’s lychee nuance ties it all together — a tropical landscape painted by four NZ-origin hops.
Flavor: Remarkably smooth for 8.5% ABV. Citra Cryo’s tropical fruit spreads across the palate, while Nelson’s white wine elegance dominates the mid-palate. Rakau’s stone fruit adds body and depth, and NZ Cascade’s grapefruit balances bitterness with fruit. The triple dry hop creates a layered experience where each hop reveals itself at different moments.
Finish: A slow fade of tropical fruit echoes. The bitterness is soft and juicy, while the 8.5% alcohol gently warms you. Nelson’s white grape lingers longest, creating an addictive quality that keeps you reaching for more.

Incredibly drinkable for 8.5%, yet the hop intensity is off the charts. The synergy between Citra Cryo’s concentration and three NZ hops creates one of the most complete Hazy DIPAs I’ve ever had. That 4.35 on Untappd is well-deserved!
