Hi there! I’m Riho, a craft beer enthusiast. In August 2025, I took on my first long-distance drive in America from Seattle and finally set foot in Fort George Brewery in Astoria (Asutoria), Oregon – a place I’d been wanting to visit for ages! Here’s my visit report.

About Fort George Brewery

Fort George Brewery is a craft brewery founded in 2007 in Astoria (Asutoria), Oregon. Known as one of the premier breweries in the Pacific Northwest (PNW), it is especially celebrated by beer fans across the United States for its modern West Coast IPAs and the limited-edition collaboration beer “3-Way IPA” series. Astoria is a historic port city located at the mouth of the Columbia River, also famous as a filming location for the movie “The Goonies.”

Taproom Atmosphere & Facilities

The taproom was even more impressive in scale than I expected, with three distinct seating areas available.

  • Bar counter-style seating: Enjoy beer in a lively atmosphere
  • Seats with a close-up view of the brewing facilities: A luxurious space where you can drink while gazing at massive tanks
  • Open-air outdoor seating: Enjoy beer in the refreshing Astoria air

The brewery food selection was excellent too – the quality was so good I couldn’t help but overeat. The merchandise section was also well-stocked, and I made sure to load up on souvenirs on my way out.
