ABV:12%

OFFTRAIL’s 24th release is a collaboration with Kirin’s Fuji Gotemba Distillery.

Located in Shizuoka Prefecture, FujiGotemba Distillery and Yamanashi Prefecture’sFar Yeast BrewingTwo companies positioned on opposite sides of Mt. Fuji collaborated on this concept of “seeing things from the other side,” creating a whiskey barrel-aged imperial porter.

The base beer is an imperial porter with aromas of baker’s chocolate, toffee, and molasses.

Further aging in bourbon and Canadian whiskey barrels develops various flavors, resulting in unexpected fruity notes of dried plum and raspberry.ビールに。

Appearance

Black. Only slight translucency at the edges when held to light.

Aroma

Orthonasal Aroma

Whiskey barrel character. Malt sweetness underneath. Deeper sniffing reveals toasty bread notes. Beautiful. Slight grape and berry skin, watermelon-like fruitiness. A chocolate-like base.なモルトの甘さがありながら、それを邪魔せずに加えていく果実にウットリ。クッキー系のお菓子にフルーツとクリームを載せるタイプのケーキのよう。

Retronasal Flavor

Berry jam-like nuances arrive first, followed by whiskey barrel-derived whiskey aromas. Berry notes. Slight salted watermelon-like quality. Saltiness. Whiskey.

Taste: The Deep Flavor of Whiskey Barrel-Aged Porter

Mouthfeel

Enters naturally like water, with an impression of marmalade dissolved in chocolate. Premium chocolate that does not overassert itself. Delicious.

Body and Texture

Natural until it rests on the tongue. Even on the tongue, water-like. Rolling the liquid reveals complex flavors. Chocolate. Whiskey bonbon-like alcohol.感。ティラミスのようなモルトの甘みとアルコールの辛さを併せ持った複雑さ。gradually building上 emerges、酸味をまとったポップの苦み。not cloying。印象 as 男梅サワーのしそ部分？のよう。

The Swallow

Vinegar-like acidity briefly touches the back of the throat then slides away.

Aftertaste

A deep, caramelized sugar candy-like sweetness lingers long. Accompanied by a touch of mint. Delicious.

Overall Impression

Dregs

Strong alcohol aroma. Chocolate. Slight marmalade. A kick of heat on swallowing. Intense. I want to pour this over ice cream.
