I visited Hakuba Taproom in Hakuba Village, Nagano (長野県白馬村)!This is a joint taproom of Baird Beer and Hakuba Brewing. Located on the 1st floor of Hakuba Panorama Hotel, it’s a hidden gem for enjoying amazing craft beer after skiing or outdoor activities.

✨ An Unexpected “English Only” Space!

The first surprise walking in was that it’s an English-only space. It feels like stumbling into a British pub while still in Hakuba (白馬). Hakuba is known as an international ski resort, and the taproom atmosphere is truly international.

🍺 Beer Experience: Crystal-Clear Lager

The lager I had was mesmerizingly crystal-clear and absolutely delicious. Clean with no off-flavors, so crisp you could dangerously drink pint after pint.

Hakuba Brewing uses 100% North Alps snowmelt water (pristine groundwater) for brewing. Founded in 2011 by British-born Dan Cockburn, the brewery blends British malt traditions with American hops. The secret to this crystal-clear deliciousness lies in the unfiltered, unpasteurized “living yeast” flavors.
