A One-of-a-Kind Brewery Discovered in Bellingham

Otherlands Beer is a rare European-style specialist in the American craft beer scene. While American craft beer is dominated by IPAs and stouts, they deliberately focus on lagers and farmhouse ales (saisons, geuze, etc.). Their unwavering commitment to European styles earned them recognition as a Top 10 Brewpub in America.

The taproom has an open, welcoming atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see local families relaxing with their pets. All food is vegetarian, and the vegetarian dumplings with rich sauce paired exceptionally well with the beer. Substantial enough for a full meal.

Beers I Tried: Stein-Style Lager

From the many taps available, I chose a lager served in a classic stein style. The golden liquid topped with fluffy white foam was the picture of a classic beer. On the palate, clean malt sweetness and pleasant carbonation spread beautifully.
