Craft Beer Review

Appearance

超クリア

Aroma

Aroma (Orthonasal)

Intensely acidic grape. A sweetness where grape skin mingles with malt sweetness. Delicious.

Flavor (Retronasal)

A pleasant resonance of slightly peachy sweetness followed by alcohol coolness blending with mild esters. A comfortable oak aroma with woody, tannic qualities.

Mouthfeel

A gorgeous yet beer-like aroma passes through the back of the nose. Grape and flowers.

Body and Texture

The subtle Fanta-like hop flavor distinctive to IPA-focused breweries harmonizes pleasantly with the wild ale’s acidity. Malt sweetness, yeast-derived acidity, and hop-derived sweet mandarin-like citrus complemented by melon and watermelon refreshment. A supporting hassaku foundation that’s not overbearing yet definitely there. Combined with hassaku, a mint-like freshness passes through the nose, bringing coolness.

The Swallow

Passes through the throat like water, yet the citrus aromas mentioned earlier graze the nose. A beautiful liquid. The alcohol provides a satisfying sense of substance.

Aftertaste

Strong hassaku and melon-like slight grassiness. Refreshing. Slightly cucumber-like.

Dregs

Grapefruit peel and unripe peach. Neither spicy nor overly astringent. Well within acceptable range. Rich and delicious. Mixing the dregs in is fine.

Overall Impression

The impression of American hops beautifully applied to a lambic-style brew. Delicious.
