What Kind of Beer Is This?

Characteristics

Brewed with barley malt as the base, plus wheat and oat malt for a soft mouthfeel and pale haze.
Coriander seeds and orange peel are used as adjuncts, adding refreshing spice notes.
Bitterness is very mild, harmonizing with the fruity yeast character for a clean, refreshing taste.
This is Brasserie Knot’s flagship beer.

Appearance

Clear

Aroma

Orthonasal Aroma

Phenolic, with a cider-like sweetness and floral notes reminiscent of chrysanthemum with a hint of mizuna greens. Even with slight metallic notes, it smells enticing. A pleasant aroma.

Retronasal Flavor

Mitsuya Cider-like sweetness. Clean and refreshing. Slightly sweet, gum-like impression.

Taste

Mouthfeel

Somewhat gentle. Enters softly while phenolic notes appeal to the nose. Beautiful.

Body and Texture

On the tongue, a nice balance of sweetness and acidity. Has a beer quality you might find in a WCIPA. Prickly yet gentle? The balance of strawberry notes (Strata hops?) with wheat spiciness, carbonation, and phenolics is beautiful. Incredibly delicious. Yet refreshing. Extremely drinkable.

The Swallow

Refreshing. Drops down the throat like water while a Mitsuya Cider-like sweetness gently spreads. Incredibly clean. Beautiful. Flawless.

Aftertaste

Mitsuya Cider-like sweetness spreads. A slight diet-soda-like flavor lingers. Clean.

Overall Impression

An excellent beer that adds wheat nuance to a smooth, gulpable style. Absolutely delicious. That was my review of Hokkaido Brasserie Knot FLOWER Belgian Wit!

Dregs

Slight sting but not at an uncomfortable level.
