Trillium / Mosaic Double Dry Hopped Fort Point(Pale Ale 6%)

Appearance
Slightly whitish haze. Hazy.

Aroma (Orthonasal)
Intense Mosaic character. Citrus, red grapefruit. Dragon fruit. Blood orange. Tropical. Slight coconut quality.

Aroma (Retronasal)
Bubblegum, chicle-like quality. Slightly minty. Grapefruit.

Mouthfeel
Again, an unaffected gentleness. Low carbonation makes it very approachable.

Body & Texture
On the tongue: tropical citrus, malt like bitter chocolate. Cookie-like grain character and carbonation arrive simultaneously.

The Swallow
The strong malt provides a foundation that feels natural. Fruitiness flows seamlessly down the throat. Clean.

Aftertaste
In contrast to the tropical moment of swallowing, very dry. No particularly long-lasting aftertaste. However, Mosaic’s chicle-like quality does linger slightly. Everything else is very dry.

Overall Impression
The astringency and lightness were the least noticeable of any Trillium I’ve had. The bitter chocolate quality is still present, and cookie-like nuances were also detectable. Very good. I thoroughly enjoyed Mosaic’s tropical nuances.

Off-Flavors
None detected.

Bottom of Glass
Aroma of hop residue. But neither harsh nor astringent. Glides in and tastes great.
