Craft Beer Review

Appearance

Hazy gold. Impression of misty gold. Cloud-like appearance.

Aroma

Aroma (Orthonasal)

Tropical impression of apricot and melon. Also a hint of sweet pastry-like aroma reminiscent of momiji manju (Japanese maple leaf cake).

Flavor (Retronasal)

Strong Stone-signature licorice aroma. Medicinal quality and hop-derived spice maintain a pleasant balance. Melon, apricot, and grape skin nuances are clearly present. Despite all this, no cucumber-like水っぽい印象がない。きゅうり系の水っぽい印象は6%前後のビールであれば大歓迎だが、8%を超えたビールにあると萎える難しい要素の一つ。これにはそれがない。おいしい。

Taste

Mouthfeel

Somewhat gentle. Wheat-driven softness — when it hits the palate, a fluffy coriander-like stimulating spiciness emerges. Slight burnt character too.

Body and Texture

Maximizes the fullness that high ABV can deliver. Strong margarine-like acidic citrus. Not flashy on initial contact, but once it settles on the tongue, wonderful flavors arrive leisurely. Grape skin, apricot, watermelon, licoriスと変化していく、変化の過程がとてもゆっくりしていて、それぞれのTasteを感じた後に次のTasteを楽しめる。冷たく入って冷たく盛り上がる。

The Swallow

Very strong wheat-derived spiciness. Definite dank character. The stimulation intensifies at the moment of swallowing. Then comes apple-like alcohol. Incredibly satisfying. Undeniably dank.

Aftertaste

Ultra-dry yet with kiwi-like nuances. A tropical note in the aftertaste that seems like it might vanish when you swallow. The fruity impression that slowly emerges after swallowing is wonderful.

Dregs

Very strong white wine-like aroma. Also a slightly sweet, burnt pastry-like scent. Gentle mouthfeel. Gets a bit spicy as you continue drinking. The Stone-signature licorice-like flavor is definitely there.

Overall Impression

A Hazy that leads with the Stone flavor while also delivering strong tropical character. That said, the tropical impression is very pronounced and incredibly delicious.
