What Kind of Craft Beer Is This?

Beer Characteristics

This Dr. Lupulin 3x IPA uses a massive amount of hops but isn’t too bitter, resulting in an easy-drinking Triple IPA where you can’t feel the 11.3% ABV. The flavor is dank (note*), with mango, pine, and pine resin aromas and flavors coexisting in beautiful balance. The color is golden with white foam. The mouthfeel is light, making this a dangerously drinkable pint.
*Note: “Dank” is a term frequently used to describe the aroma and flavor of American craft beers, referring to a distinctive fragrance reminiscent of cannabis.

Craft Beer Review

Appearance

Clear brown, whiskey-like clarity.

Aroma

Orthonasal Aroma

Hard to detect a harsh alcohol aroma. Watermelon and gourd-like nuances. Sweet, also mango-like. Mellow. No harsh alcohol impression.

Retronasal Flavor

Shaoxing wine-like alcohol strength. Within that, alcohol sweetness. An impression of melon and watermelon sweetness mixed with alcohol’s coolness.

Taste

Mouthfeel

Strong cool impression. Even within the coolness, a sharp bitterness lurks beneath.

Body and Texture

Tea-like bitterness and strong alcohol presence. The malt richness can be fully enjoyed. As the temperature rises, melon-like sweetness emerges, along with a beer-like dragon fruit and citrus character. There’s also a marmalade-like impression where citrus and alcohol intertwine.

The Moment of Swallowing

Quietly sinks deep into the throat. Goes down without resistance like water. Among dank beers, the alcohol element is particularly strong – like swallowing a whiskey and water. Like a strong highball.

Aftertaste

Strong alcohol presence and marmalade character

Bottom of the Glass

Chocolate-like heaviness. Close to whiskey and water.

Overall Impression
