Hey there! I’m Riho, a craft beer enthusiast. Parleaux Beer Lab in New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood is a uniquely-concept brewery located just a 7-minute drive from Frenchmen Street — the heart of the city’s live music scene.

What is Parleaux Beer Lab?

Parleaux Beer Lab’s defining feature is that they have absolutely no flagship beers. Every beer is a limited small-batch brew, meaning each visit brings an entirely different lineup. For beer geeks, this is nothing short of a dream brewery. Their concept revolves around “high-quality, small-batch, locally-sourced beers” — from raspberry & cherry aged stouts to ginger & lime goses, their creativity knows no bounds. Beloved as a warm neighborhood taproom rooted in the Bywater community.

Atmosphere & Space

The space is a renovated former truck repair shop with an open layout where you can enjoy beer while gazing at the brewing tanks. The industrial interior that beer geeks love is beautifully fused with the warm community atmosphere of neighbors gathering together. Yelp reviews frequently mention “the best sour beer in New Orleans,” and the brewery enjoys overwhelming local support. Their merchandise is adorable too — perfect for souvenirs.

Beers I Tried

StyleTasting Notes
Hazy IPA (limited)Exceptionally high quality. Juicy with abundant fruit character
Lager (limited)Clean and crisp, meticulously crafted with remarkable polish
Sour (limited)Lives up to the reputation of “best sour in NOLA.” Every one hits a high mark

Since there are no flagship beers, every visit brings a completely different lineup. This time I enjoyed a Hazy, lager, and sour — each showing the careful craftsmanship that small-batch brewing allows. They were all genuinely delicious.

Having no flagship beers is quite a rare and bold concept for a brewery. Small batch brewing produces beer in small quantities with meticulous care, making it easier to experiment with creative recipes. A brewery where every visit brings something new makes you want to keep coming back!

No flagships was surprising at first, but having new discoveries every visit is actually the best concept ever! I love the industrial vibe of drinking next to the tanks, and their merchandise is so cute I ended up buying way too many souvenirs (laughs)
