Appearance

Aroma (Orthonasal)
So much Citra! Ripe melon. Slightly chocolatey. As the temperature rises, Amarillo-like apricot notes emerge too.

Flavor (Retronasal)
Ripe melon, slightly apricot?

Mouthfeel
On the natural side. Slides in smoothly. No oats perhaps?

Body & Texture
Bitter chocolate-like malt texture. As the temperature rises in the mouth, significant spiciness becomes noticeable. That said, the bitter chocolate expression is beautifully clean. *Not sweet* Despite throwing massive amounts of hops, there’s zero earthiness. You can sense the density of hops packed to the absolute limit. The gentle mouthfeel despite no oats might be due to the sheer volume of hops. Compared to standard hazys, the tropical character is somewhat stronger, but bitterness is still prominent. Sweetness is quite restrained, and the malt character has become a clean bitter chocolate.

The Swallow
Spicy and a bit sharp. But you feel an explosion of melon and apricot-like hops.

Aftertaste
Despite being dry, the bitter chocolate-like malt aftertaste lingers for a very long time. The hop bitterness is like citrus peel in bitter chocolate.

Overall Impression
Despite packing in as many hops as possible, the cleanliness is remarkable — zero earthiness. The malt application has the elegance and refinement of bitter chocolate, which is very appealing. I felt Citra quite strongly, while Amarillo became more pronounced as the temperature rose. Incredibly delicious — I definitely want to drink this on-site at the brewery.

Off-Flavors

At the Bottom
It’s amazing that there’s absolutely no hop residue clinging to the glass. Clean. When you taste it, it’s sweet. No noticeable heat, and astringency isn’t an issue. I think pouring this over ice cream would be incredible. Cake or pudding would work great too. Delicious.
