I’m Riho, a craft beer enthusiast.On day 3, as the 10th brewery on my GABF tour, I visited New Image Brewing in Arvada, Colorado. I was so overwhelmed by their quality that for the first time I truly understood “so this is what Hazy IPA should be.” My stoic solo trip of visiting only breweries was completely vindicated.

Taproom Atmosphere

Olde Town Arvada preserves its historic streetscape, and New Image Brewing brings modern craft beer culture to the area. The taproom buzzes with energy as a gathering spot for beer lovers. I was on a solo trip and planned to drink quietly, but before I knew it, I was deep in conversation with fellow patrons.

Beers Tasted: Hazy IPA & WIC IPA

I tried two: the Hazy IPA and WIC IPA (fresh hop).

The Hazy IPA was impressively smooth – like water – the moment it hit my palate, seeming to dissolve effortlessly. Yet the balance of hop aroma and bitterness was exquisite, landing perfectly at “not too heavy, not too light.” I completely understood why this brewery has so many devoted fans.

The WIC IPA fresh hop was also excellent after a tasting. However, the Hazy’s quality was a step above, and I became convinced that “if you come here, you must drink the Hazy.”
