I’m Riho, a craft beer enthusiast.As the 7th brewery on my GABF (Great American Beer Festival) tour, I visited Gilded Goat Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado. This family-owned brewery embraces “the fusion of art and science,” and I found a beer that soothed my long-journey fatigue.

Opened in February 2017, this family-owned brewery features a style that fuses European beer traditions with Colorado’s craft beer culture. They’re committed to using Colorado’s pristine mountain water and locally sourced ingredients to brew well-balanced craft beer. With excellent barrel-aged beers and sours, they’ve earned respected status in Fort Collins. The taproom offers an open layout with views of the brewing equipment and includes a dog-friendly patio.

The Midtown location sits in a quiet area of south Fort Collins. The taproom is designed so you can enjoy beer while viewing the brewing tanks – a warm space where families and local beer lovers gather. Diverse beers are always on draft, centered around barrel-aged selections. With limited time this visit, I definitely want to settle in for a longer stay next time.

Beer Tasted: Frumpy Moo Moo (Breakfast Stout)

I wanted to try their barrel-aged offerings, but draft options were limited, so I chose Frumpy Moo Moo (Breakfast Stout). After the fatigue of a long trip, I ordered it thinking “I need a wake-up call!”

The pleasant coffee acidity and deep malt richness intertwine beautifully – rich yet never tiring to drink. Living up to its name as “a stout to greet the morning,” it has a depth that makes you want to savor it slowly. Next time, I’m definitely going for the barrel-aged beers.
